Heart of Gold (Neil Young)

Points to Remember:

• From Neil's 1972 "Harvest" album.

• Has just five chords:

      Em7, Em, C, D, G

• Features a short lick with hammer-on.

• In the key of E minor or G major (both have just one sharp). Em is the "relative minor" of G major.

• On the verse, beginners can just do 2 down strums per chord. More advanced players can do twice as many down strums per chord.

• Neil often uses a bit of 'palm muting' with his picking hand to get a slightly darker sound.
